What if the most powerful light in your life doesn’t come from the absence of darkness, but from learning to declare God’s presence in it?
On 23 May 2026, in the heart of Delft South, Cape Town, Peace United Outreach Church made history. During a powerful worship experience titled Worship Journal 2026, the church officially released its very first original worship single, “Die Here is my Lig en my Heil” (“The Lord is my Light and my Salvation”). The atmosphere was electric, a defining moment that marked not only a musical milestone but a profound spiritual declaration of faith, legacy, and generational continuity.
Founded more than 30 years ago by Reverend Jeffrey Simpson and First Lady Denise Simpson, Peace United Outreach Church has been a steadfast beacon of hope, worship, and transformation in Delft South and beyond. Located at 14 Dadel Street, the ministry was established with a clear vision: to portray the peace of God that surpasses all understanding throughout Cape Town and the Western Cape. For decades, Reverend Jeffrey Simpson led with faithful preaching, worship, prayer, and community outreach, while a branch in Oudtshoorn continues to extend that impact.

The church has now gracefully stepped into a new era under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Simpson and First Lady Delmain Simpson, alongside their daughter Pheobe. Following the faithful tenure of Pastor Adrian Simpson from 2021 to 2025, this generational transition represents something deeply moving, the seamless blending of strong spiritual roots with fresh creativity and vision.
“Die Here is my Lig en my Heil,” written by renowned songwriter Edward Adams and produced by Winston Siljeur, has already begun touching hearts. With its rich worship sounds, powerful instrumentation, and spiritually uplifting melodies, the song beautifully captures complete dependence on God during life’s most difficult seasons. Church members have described it as deeply moving, a heartfelt anthem of faith, hope, and God’s unwavering light in times of uncertainty.
This release is more than a song. It stands as a landmark achievement for the church’s Creative Arts Department, which has flourished under Pastor Leonard and First Lady Delmain’s leadership. Through music and creative ministry, they are intentionally raising and empowering the next generation of worshippers, musicians, and creatives to use their gifts boldly for the Kingdom of God.

What makes this story so profoundly inspiring is its beautiful relatability. Life is filled with transitions, seasons of handover, moments when we must carry forward what was built before us while daring to create something new. Peace United Outreach Church shows us that true growth and legacy are not about clinging to the past, but about honouring the foundation while stepping courageously into the future.
In a world that often feels uncertain, this church offers an elegant reminder: real strength and personal growth are found in the daily choice to worship, to trust, and to declare God’s light even when the path ahead isn’t clear. It invites every one of us to reflect on our own journey, to recognise the legacy we’ve inherited and the one we are called to build.
Holding firmly to the promise in Joshua 1:5, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you”, Pastor Leonard, First Lady Delmain, and the entire Peace United family are proving that authentic faith is alive, creative, and deeply enduring.
The worship has risen. The song is out. A new chapter has begun.
Now the question lingers in the silence after the last note fades: When your own season shifts and the light feels distant, will you choose to declare that He is still your light and your salvation and who will you pass that declaration on to?
